Set a team limit once and GameSentry watches every team on your Rust server for you, even when no staff member is online.
Set the team limit
- 1
Open the server and select Settings.
- 2
In the General tab, under Teams, enter the most players allowed in one team, for example 2 for a duo server.
- 3
Save. Leave the field empty for no limit.
Get an alert when a team goes over
When a team has more players than the limit, the Team Over Limit automation event fires once. It fires again if the team is still over the limit 6 hours later. Use it in a rule to warn the team, post in Discord or kick. The template gallery has a ready made team over limit rule.
Without the plugin, GameSentry checks teams over RCON every few minutes. A player who joins and leaves between two checks can be missed.
Block joins with the GameSentry plugin
With the GameSentry plugin on a premium license, included with Beta Tester access, and its Team history log switch on, players cannot join a team that is already full and are told why in chat. Admin commands that force a player into a team are not blocked. Blocked joins show as group limit violations in the player's Fair play section.
Check who teamed with whom
- The Teams section of a player's profile lists when they joined or left a team and who else was in it at that moment.
- Logs, then Server events, then Teams lists every team change on the server.
- Alts and teammates on the profile lists players who often play together.
With the plugin, team changes are recorded the moment they happen, including team creation, kicks and disbanding.
Team history is a signal of who played together, not proof. Players who work together without joining a team in game do not show up in it, so look at reports, fights and teammates as well.
Everything GameSentry does for Rust servers is on one page: Rust admin tool and web RCON panel.
