Add Your First Server

Connect your game server to GameSentry via RCON and start monitoring in minutes.

Updated 2026-03-07 serverrconsetupconnect

Adding a server to GameSentry requires RCON (Remote Console) access. RCON allows GameSentry to send commands, receive logs, and monitor your server in real-time.

Prerequisites

  • A game server with RCON enabled (Rust, ARK, etc.).
  • The RCON port and password for your server.
  • The server must be accessible from the internet (not blocked by firewall).
  • An organization in GameSentry (created automatically on first login).

Step-by-Step Setup

1

Navigate to your organization's Server Panel.

2

Click "Add Server" in the top right.

3

Enter your server's IP address and game port. GameSentry will query the server to verify it's online.

4

Once the server is found, enter your RCON port and RCON password.

5

GameSentry will test the RCON connection. If successful, your server is added and monitoring begins immediately.

6

Your server will appear in the dashboard with live player count, status, and RCON console access.

If the RCON connection test fails, double-check that your server's RCON port is open in your firewall and that the password is correct. Common RCON ports: Rust uses 28016, ARK uses the game port + 1.

Server Limits

The number of servers you can add depends on your subscription tier. The Free plan allows 1 active server. If you need more, upgrade your plan from the Subscription page.

Polling interval determines how frequently GameSentry queries your server for updates. Lower intervals mean more real-time data but are reserved for higher-tier plans.
