How to see F7 reports on your Rust server

Read the F7 reports your players send in game, with what was going on when each was filed. No plugin or server setting needed.

Updated Oct 28, 2026

When a player presses F7 in Rust and reports someone, the server sends the report to its RCON console. GameSentry is always connected to that console, so it saves every report with who reported whom, the type, the message and the server.

Set it up

There is nothing to set up. Once your server is connected over RCON, reports appear on their own. You do not need the server.reportsServerEndpoint setting: it sends reports to a web address of your own, and GameSentry does not use it.

Reports sent while GameSentry is disconnected from your server are not captured. Keep the connection working; the server shows as connected in the panel.

Where to find reports

  • Player Reports in the Tools menu lists reports from every server in your organization.
  • Reports in a server panel lists that server's reports, and can group them by player to find who gets reported most.
  • The Reports section of a player's profile lists reports against that player.
  • Show only your own reports, only reports shared by partners, or both.

What was going on when a report was filed

Open a report to read the full message and a snapshot taken when it was filed:

  • whether the two players were on the same team, and how many players were online;
  • kills between them in the 15 minutes before;
  • what each wrote in chat in the 30 minutes before;
  • where each player was on the map, and the distance between them.

This works on every server connected over RCON. With the GameSentry plugin on a premium license, included with Beta Tester access, the snapshot also shows exact positions, whether anything blocked the line of sight between the two players, what each was holding and who else was within 50 m.

A report and its snapshot are signals to check, not proof. A clear line of sight does not mean a player was seen, and being nearby does not mean being involved.

Use the Player Reported trigger in automation to post new reports in a Discord channel, or Player Reported by Several Players to be told when three different players report the same person within 30 minutes.

Everything GameSentry does for Rust servers is on one page: Rust admin tool and web RCON panel.
