Changes are compared with the previous edition. How these numbers are measured

We took 22,143 public Rust servers and ranked them by their average player count over the seven days to 31 October.
The busiest 1% of them held 59.5% of all players, up from 56% in the October edition, and the busiest 10% held 99.4%. Half of all players were on just 161 servers. It took 765 servers, 3.5% of the total, to hold 90% of players, down from 864 in the October edition.
The report has the full curve, the busiest servers and the split by region, along with how the numbers were worked out.
The numbers count players connected to servers on the public Rust server list, as tracked by GameSentry. Steam's player count is higher because it also counts everyone with the game open in menus, loading screens and queues.
